Lesson 8 - Media Regulation

Tuesday 4th December 2018

  • WHAT DO WE MEAN BY REGULATION?
  • WHY DO WE NEED TO REGULATE THE MEDIA?
  • WHAT TYPES OF MEDIA DO YOU THINK NEEDS REGULATION THE MOST? WHY?

By Regulation we mean rules sort of like terms and conditions to posting something on the media. We need to regulate the media so that it is apropriate to people . For example age raitings on films and warnings before something bad happens. The types of media i think need the most regulating is the interent because now its a massive thing today as tecnology is imporoving. Most of the population uses the internet so people need to ensure that people feel comfortable and prepared for what they are watching, seeing or doing.
--------------------------------------

Media producers are trying to get our atention. They are all trying to reach out to us somehow which may change our lives. They have so much power over us especialy because of the modern world that they can encourage us in the most unnoticable ways to watch view or review their product/company. Because of this reguations are essential. This is so that they can stay within their boundaries and be able to change the way we see the world safely. A company can regulate themselfs like a magazine/newspaper or anther anceny can regulate it to find out if it is apropriate for the public.
