The Uses and Gratification model is a theory that states that audiences consume media products because they have to satisfy needs:
Goals of Media
Audiences listen/watch/read/use media because they want/need...
- To be informed or educated.
- To be entertained.
- To develop social interaction with others (interact with other fans).
- To feel connected with the situations and characters emotionally.
- To escape from real life situations.
EXAMPLES OF USES AND GRATIFICATION THEORY
In situations like watching movies and listening to the music of your own choice, this theory is applicable. People choose from their own choices and moods. The needs of the particular person are met through the media used.
Similarly, internet and mobile phones have become a source of media that tries to fulfil not only the mass communication needs, but also interpersonal needs like interaction and emotional involvement. People can use internet, text, call, talk with photos or with videos. It is portable and accessible. It has come to be useful for many and serve many purposes.
Which social media apps do you use? Why?
I personaly only use snapchat to send pictures to my freinds, checkout the new face filters or be updadted on recent news that would be relevant to me. I also use whatsapp just to talk to friends and family (or school group chats).
Are you 'the same person' in all of your social media?
Yes because i act the same with all my friends, but when its ,y close friends im serious when needed idk y though.
Are you 'the same person' in social media that you are in real life?
Yes because i hatre 2 facedd people! i like it when people be themselfs instead of acting like someone who they are not.

I think that users would mainly be girls. I think this because adding a filter over their face makes them feel pretty and they would probably want to feel that way. Mainly girls who have low self asteem may frequently use this app to make them feel something happy.

Mainly younger people ( under 25) would use this app as it is considered 'cool' to keep up with the popular music. Steriotypicaly girls would want to listen to music because girls like to sing and dance more than boys (steriotypicaly).

Older men 60+ would watch and listen to the news to be informed about whats happening in the world. whereas younger people would not be interseted in this because people are too busy on their social media.

Teenage girls 12-16 would watch this. Mianly girls are into romantic and gossip dramas. Some girls just watch it to be able to talk to others at school about it.

It would mainly be watched by girls because of all the gossip the 'real people' have. Some may question if they can be considered human from the amount of plastic in their faces and makeup smugded on their face.

The sun would be read by middle age people who are defiently not above the c class (may be in it) and just want to be updated on not really the most important things in theworld but the little things (kinda like gossip but not at the same time). basically things that would be relevant to them but not to others.

Younger people mainly would watch this not really for infomaition but to keep up with celebrities or famous people.

Familys and childern would use this. To watch movies, seris (mainly parents) and watch family things together.

people could use the daily telegraph to escape from there lives by reading other people storys i also think that an age group of 40-60 would read this
